Spencer has amassed multiple years of journalism experience with various news outlets. He got his start working as a sports statistician for the Akron Beacon Journal.

Shortly after being granted the opportunity to write high school sports roundup and record for collegiate sports, Spencer started filling in as a freelancer.

He began covering the Akron RubberDucks for both the ABJ and a well-respected sports blog, Indians Baseball Insider. His responsibilities included game recaps, but he also composed compelling player features. These pieces allowed him to expand his works to beyond baseball and into the high school, collegiate and professional levels.

In addition to the ABJ and IBI, Spencer has since had his works published for reputable organizations such as FOX Sports Ohio and CBS Cleveland's 92.3 The Fan. He's also written for professional blogs such as Medium.com, AmicoHoops.net, SCOUT.com and Sports Illustrated's FanSided. In his most recent works, Spencer contributed to Basketball Insiders & CloseUp360.
